OmniFlix Network — Community Update #37
Flix Fam, last week’s article was quite long summarizing everything we did in the last 3 months. This one will be straight to the point. Let’s dive right into Community Update #37.
Key Highlights
ecosystem news and updates from last week
1) Engineering
- From a protocol standpoint, we’ve been focused towards contribution for the LBPv2 module on Osmosis.
- We are also planning on the bidding module within the marketplace module.
- As an important note for the Relayers, the connection between channel 27 on Terra (Terra-1 chain) and channel-4 on OmniFlix Hub (OmniFlixHub-1) has been retired considering no user funds were locked within. Thank you to the efforts of the CryptoCrew Validators team and the Notional team that have been supporting us with relaying IBC transactions, right from the start.
ℹ️ NOTE: Relayers are requested to stop relaying between Terra (old chain, columbus-5) and the current OmniFlix Hub.
- The application engineering team is focused on putting together OmniFlix Me up for a release in the next few weeks👇
2) Design & Media
2.1) Product Design
This week, the product design team was focused on improvising the UX and capabilities of OmniFlix.me. Here are the design updates from the week:
- Design for the NFTs page has been worked to display the NFTs of all the creators
- Design for Collections page has been worked to display the Collections of all the creators
- Design for Creators page has been worked to display all the creators in a single page who’re utilizing the OmniFlix.me app
- Along with this, the filters components required for the module has been designed. This will enable users to browse NFTs and Collections with much more ease and convenience.
- The design of the Profile Overview page has been updated — a creator can also add their featured collections on their account via OmniFlix Studio
The above designs are being worked on by the development team and will soon be deployed for the community to test the platform on testnet/devnet.
- Details around the integration of OmniFlix.me within Studio have also been discussed.
- Planned for a sovereign interactive video creation experience.
- Also initiated discussions for a profile NFT to be on-chain for the ease of use for apps within the Flixverse to on-board their users and communities.
2.2) Media
Media team is experimenting on creating video for the overview of OmniFlix Studio. Video would be an explainer with a voiceover which explains what is OmniFlix Studio? Who can utilize it? and more.. This week, team has worked on,
- Script for the OmniFlix Studio overview video has been finalized
- Currently, team is actively working on creating the graphics needed for the video
- Also, graphics needed for the Token Economics article has been finalized and article will soon be published.
3) Flixverse
of Builders, Creators, Curators, Collectors, Publishers and Partners
This week, the OmniFlix ecosystem was on 🔥
- We’ve had progress on our first collaboration with Fashion3 to design merchandise NFTs
- Consistent coordination with the Osmosis team during the work on the LBPv2 module lead to good progress. More on the exciting details, next week!
- The founder of OmniFlix, Dayakar Reddy is now a part of the multi-signature wallet which manages a grant from the Gravity Bridge network. The members of this multi-sig wallet and working group are involved in pushing the boundaries of what can be done with NFTs on the OmniFlix Network and across the wider interchain ecosystem. This is a group to primarily work on the ICS721 multi-chain NFT standard.
Collections launching this week
This week is a culmination of diverse types of creators that are launching on OmniFlix.Market. We will have unique collections which open avenues for various artists.

3.2) The Sand King (to be released)
NFT book/story
With OmniFlix, creators can also mint text documents & PDFs as NFTs, which opens up several opportunities for writers. The Sand King is a NFT book which will be released in episodes on OmniFlix.Market. NFT holders can participate in directing story along with the author by participating in the DAO.
3.3) Pink Jellyfish in the Room (released)
NFTs for social good
‘Pink Jellyfish in the Room’ is a collection of with generative art of 1000 jellyfish. Each minted/adopted jellyfish will activate a variety of real-world utilities. All profits go to two environmental charities that help clean up oceans and beaches around the world.

Forever Crystal is a gamified NFT collection minted in three phases, for this collection creator is using OmniFlix TV to run a interactive contest which will make the participant eligible for a NFT drop.

a) AMA — Flix AMA Session #1
An Ask Me Anything (AMA) session was carried out by Flix Fanatics over the weekend exclusively for the members of OmniFlix Discord server. The session saw answers to interesting questions which were posed by the Flix Fam.
These sessions are scheduled once in a fortnight by the Flix Fanatics to encourage better community <> builder interaction.

b) Campaigns around technology awareness & ecosystem collaboration
`Lunatics can be Fanatics` is a campaign started by Flix Fanatics where the team took an initiative of directing different NFT projects looking for alternative ecosystems other than their own L1s to migrate to OmniFlix or start their NFT projects at the earliest.

Focus for the current week

- Protocol Engineering — the current focus for the week will be around planning/development of the auctions module as well as the contribution around Osmosis LBPv2
- Applications — Currently, continued work for the launch of OmniFlix.me along with the research involved in signing in with email via web3auth.
- Design — Continued efforts to update the UX for OmniFlix.market, search module and other related designs around OmniFlix.me
- Media —We’ll continue to work on OmniFlix Studio overview video to produce a good explainer video from start to finish, all from within the DAO (and subDAOs).
- Community — Collections launching this week are all mentioned above and we’re always looking for quality new collections that can use the primitives provided on OmniFlix well.
