FlixNet-2 — Genesis file & instructions to join — now released
Hello Flix Fam!
Owing to the once again, epic response received and the extra measures that the team took, all gentx submissions received until UTC 2 pm as on 6th September have been considered, reviewed, and the ones that were early, participated in community activities or even engaged with the OmniFlix team when the testnet wasn’t running have been merged.
Although the team considered and reviewed most submissions, there might not have been a few that might not have made it. We thank you for your interest and request you to join the network (FlixNet-2) as a run time validator.

Like last time, we’re elated to have received participation from around the world and look forward to a smooth launch of the FlixNet-2 testnet.
Construct of the genesis
- From the submission of gentxs standpoint, we have received over 1000 (at the time of writing this post) and reviewed them on a variety of factors with submission time being a key factor, participation in FlixNet-1, contribution to the community via Telegram & Discord chats and other work during the non-testnet phases.
- For the 250 genesis validators of FlixNet-2, there was a quota of ~70% (175 validators) that participated in FlixNet-1 validators and ~30% (75) had to be newer accounts, that were participating in the network for the first time.
What‘s coming next?
- In addition to the 250 slots during genesis, there are 150 additional slots for run-time validators.
- Once the testnet stabilizes, we aim to rotate stake during a specific period (sometime in the next week) to ensure equal opportunity to produce blocks for everyone running a node on the network.
Note: Even if you are an inactive validator during the start of the testnet, once it is stable and the stake rotation period starts, Inactive validators will also receive stake and will have the chance to produce blocks on the testnet.
Points to note ✍
- Use the genesis file to setup your node and ensure that you’re all set for the launch.
- The launch is scheduled for 11am UTC on 8th September, 2021.
- We recommend that you be ready with the node setup at least 30min in advance.
- Follow the launch activities and discuss on Telegram & Discord.
- Instructions to run the node (genesis validators or run-time validators or even just full nodes) have already been published and updated here.
